Our Dive Addicts 2nd Annual Scuba Dive-A-Thon is nearing the finish line! Have you been diving this Summer? If so, bring in your log book Sat., Sept. 11 before 4:30pm to receive a ticket and be entered into our prize drawing. See contest details here. Awards Ceremony will be held at 5pm Sat., Sept. 11. What is it like to dive without bubbles? Come see for yourself during our Rebreather Demo Fri., Sept. 10 5-9pm! Cost is $40/diver to cover materials; RSVP to reserve your space or sign up online here. This demo will begin in the classroom to discuss what a rebreather is and how diving with one has benefits over open circuit diving. Then, try one out for yourself in our pool with a qualified instructor. We’ll have the following models for you to demo: Hammerhead, Sentinel, O2ptima, Inspiration and Evolution.

Interested in Technical Diving? Don’t miss our FREE Tech Clinics Sat., Sept. 11. First, learn what technical diving entails and the training opportunities available with Michael Thornton from 2-3pm. Then, Randy Thornton will discuss the exciting adventures of wreck diving from 3-4pm. Finally, Josh Thornton will talk about cave exploration and our special guest, Wayne Kinard, will entertain you with stories about the history of Florida cave diving from 4-6pm! Attend one or all of these special clinics.

And we finally want to invite you to our FREE Spearfishing Clinic Sat., Sept. 11 6-8pm. Begin in the classroom to discuss local spearfishing regulations and techniques, view a short educational video, then demo some spearguns in our pool. Bring your certification card!

News & Links : Scuba Dive-A-Thon

Starting April 26th and finishing September 11th, this is a race to see who can complete more scuba dives over the Summer! Complete at least 12 dives in 4 separate locations to qualify for amazing prizes, including FREE travel! Receive an event T-shirt and bag filled with valuable passes, coupons and samples from local businesses when you register.

This year, our Grand Prize is a 7 night stay at the Tawali Resort in Papua New Guinea including accommodations, 18 dives, all meals and transfers (airfare not included) donated by South Pacific Island Travel (retail value $2206)l! The runner up will receive a $500 travel voucher from Ultimate Dive Travel! Thank you to these companies for their generous donations. Minimum of 5 tickets needed to qualify for the Grand Prize drawing.

• Who may participate: Any certified diver.
• Registration Fee: $25/diver includes event T-shirt and bag. (No purchase necessary to participate, however, event bag with valuable savings and T-shirt not provided. T-shirt sold separately).
• Dates: Starting April 26th through September 11th. Awards ceremony will be held Saturday, Sept. 11th at 5pm during our 8th Anniversary Event with food, fun and the final drawing for prizes.
• Prizes: Many of our vendors as well as our event supporters have made incredible donations! All qualifiers will have their names entered into the drawing for these prizes on Sept. 11th at 5pm (diver must be present to win). Each diver who meets the min. dive requirements will have one ticket entered. For every additional 3 dives or new location, you can earn an additional ticket to increase your chances of winning! Additional prize for the diver with the most total dives. Minimum of 5 tickets needed to qualify for the Grand Prize drawing.
• How to qualify: Each diver must complete a minimum of 12 dives in 4 separate locations (separate bodies of water, not just different areas of one geographical place) to have one ticket entered into the drawing. Participants must have Dive Addicts verify each dive, so bring your logbook into the store along with a photo of you at the dive site as proof of completion. For every additional 3 dives or new location, an additional ticket will be entered to increase your chances of winning.
• Rental Special: A rental package price of $50/weekend for Dive-A-Thon registered participants during the race includes BC, reg, 2 tanks, 7mm jumpsuit and weights!
